# Choose your Huddle context

Choose the work your Huddle widgets show once, then share that context across the team’s tabs.

## Overview

**Context** is the set of initiatives and source selections used by your Huddle widgets. Team admins and editors can change it from **Today**. Viewers can inspect the saved choices.

Select the correct team before editing. Context belongs to that team’s Huddle and is shared across teammates and devices. Widget display choices, such as Pending actions grouping or the Milestones view, stay in the widget’s settings.

## Set shared context

1. Open your team’s **Huddle → Today** and select **Context** in the top toolbar.
2. Expand the source you want to change, such as **Initiatives** or **Linear teams**.
3. If existing widgets have different selections, select **Set shared selection** before choosing the shared options.
4. Review any listed widget exceptions. Keep them, or select **Use Huddle context** beside each widget that should follow the shared choice.
5. Select **Apply context**. **Cancel** discards your draft, including any proposed override removals.

Widgets that follow shared context update across the team’s tabs. For example, choosing two Linear teams once applies to both **Linear current cycle** and **Milestones**, unless either widget has its own selection.

Hover over or focus **Context** to check what the visible widgets on the current tab use. The tooltip shows their sources and marks overrides as **Widget selection**. Open Context to review all shared options.

## Choose the sources

| Context option | What it controls |
| --- | --- |
| **Initiatives** | The shared initiative scope for **Customer evidence**, **Sentiment**, and **Direction**. Keep **Active initiatives in this team** for Definition and In Progress initiatives, or use **Choose initiatives** for up to 50 accessible initiatives in any status, including initiatives from other teams. |
| **Linear teams** | The connection and teams used by **Linear current cycle** and **Milestones**. Keep **Automatic team**, or use **Choose teams** for up to 50 teams. |
| **Jira sprint** | The connection, board, and sprint used by **Jira current sprint**. Choose a board and **Active sprint** or a specific sprint, or select **Use automatic board and sprint**. |
| **Customers** | The accounts and evidence period used by **Accounts Evidence**. Use **Recent customers** or **Choose customers** for up to 50 accounts. Periods are **Last day**, **Last week**, **Last 30 days**, and **All time**. |
| **Evidence fallback** | What **Customer evidence** shows when the selected initiatives have no linked evidence. Choose trending insights or no fallback. Trending insights can use the workspace, this team, or a specific product over 7, 30, or 90 days. |
| **Direction sources** | Whether **Direction** uses **Evidence and studies**, **Evidence only**, or **Studies only**. |

Goals, Focus, Delivery, and Pending actions continue to use the selected Zentrik team. Connect Linear or Jira before configuring its source. Selecting an initiative does not grant access: each viewer sees only initiatives and supporting content they can read. Teammates may therefore see different results from the same shared selection.

## Give one widget a different selection

A **widget override** is a source selection for one widget on one tab. Existing widget selections that differ from a new shared choice stay as overrides, including widgets on other tabs or currently hidden widgets. Leaving context unchanged preserves your existing setup.

1. Select the context icon beside a supported widget’s title.
2. Choose **Use a widget selection**, then set its source options.
3. Select **Save widget context**.

A link icon marks shared context; a sliders icon marks a widget selection.

To remove that override, choose **Follow Huddle context** in the same control and save. You can also remove listed overrides from the shared Context sheet with **Use Huddle context**, then **Apply context**.

Overrides are available for Linear current cycle, Milestones, Jira current sprint, Accounts Evidence, Customer evidence’s fallback, and Direction’s source types. **Initiative selection always stays shared** across Customer evidence, Sentiment, and Direction.

## Return to automatic choices and read history

To return to automatic selection, choose **Active initiatives in this team**, **Automatic team**, **Use automatic board and sprint**, or **Recent customers** for the relevant source, then apply. Widgets with overrides keep those overrides until you remove them.

**An empty manual selection means none.** Removing every selected initiative, Linear team, or customer does not switch back to automatic selection. An empty initiative scope can still show trending insights if **Evidence fallback** allows them.

Removing an override makes the widget follow shared context; it does not restore an earlier widget selection. Choose that selection again if you need it.

Context changes update the current Huddle. Earlier Huddles retain their saved initiative scope; **Accounts Evidence and connected provider widgets still read live data** when you open History. Return to **Today** to edit context.

## Troubleshooting

### A widget did not follow my change

Open Context and check the exceptions for that source. Select Use Huddle context beside the widget and Apply context, or remove the override through the widget’s context icon. Check the team and tab as well.

### A selection is unavailable or shows no data

Check access to the initiative or provider connection, the selected items, and the evidence period. An empty manual list selects nothing. Each viewer can read only content they have access to.

### I cannot apply context

Return to Today and confirm you are a team admin or editor. Keep each list within 50 selections and choose a product when using Specific product for evidence fallback. If someone saved changes while you were editing, select Reload team customization before trying again.
