Zentrik + PostHog

Turn measured product behavior into a current Insight that can inform the next product decision.

Zentrik runs a reviewed aggregate query in PostHog and stores the result as durable product knowledge. A scheduled run updates the same Insight when the evidence changes, so a team can use the latest measurement when it reviews an idea or prepares a brief.

The first recipe answers one question: Is successful MCP use growing across workspaces? It compares complete time periods, counts successful tool calls and distinct workspaces, and excludes synthetic events.

Connect PostHog

  1. Confirm that the PostHog project uses UTC.
  2. In Zentrik, open Settings → Integrations → Connections and connect PostHog.
  3. Approve the read-only project:read and query:read scopes.
  4. Open Imports → PostHog and select the PostHog project that contains Zentrik telemetry.

Zentrik uses OAuth with PKCE. Reconnecting updates the workspace connection instead of creating a second connection.

Create a telemetry import

  1. Ask whether successful MCP use is growing across workspaces.
  2. Choose a daily or weekly cadence.
  3. Review the event, filters, comparison window, and evidence minimums that Zentrik will use.
  4. Run a preview. A preview does not create an Insight.
  5. Start the import after the preview has enough evidence.

Each scheduled run uses the saved measurement plan. Zentrik does not let a model rewrite the query during a run. An administrator must review a changed plan before it becomes active.

Data and access

  • Zentrik reads bounded aggregate results from the selected PostHog project.
  • Zentrik does not copy raw events, people, or session recordings.
  • Each observation records the evidence window, recipe version, query version, coverage state, aggregate measurement, and a provider receipt.
  • Disconnecting stops future reads. Existing Insights and observations remain available until a team member removes them through Zentrik.

Troubleshooting

Most connection problems clear up after a fresh authorization or an admin allows the app. If you have tried that and still cannot connect, contact us and we will help.

The project cannot be selected

Confirm that the project uses UTC and that the connected PostHog account can read it.

The preview has limited evidence

Keep the import inactive. Confirm the event properties and wait for enough complete periods, successful calls, and workspaces.

A scheduled run cannot read PostHog

Reconnect PostHog and approve the requested read-only scopes. The last supported Insight remains visible with its prior evidence window.
