Group related customer findings around a problem worth solving before choosing a solution.
An opportunity describes a customer problem or potential benefit. An idea describes a possible solution. For example, slow monthly reporting is the opportunity; scheduled exports are one possible idea.
When to create an opportunity
Create an opportunity when several findings describe the same problem or benefit and the team needs to compare its value, constraints, and evidence. Keep the related findings linked so reviewers can check the customer’s words.
Define the opportunity
- Describe the problem, affected users, and expected benefit.
- Add the constraints and open questions that could change the decision.
- Link the relevant insights and source evidence.
- Compare this opportunity with others in the tree or graph.
As new findings arrive, add them to the existing opportunity. Split the opportunity when they describe a different problem.

Opportunity narrative and linked insights keep bet space auditable. This controlled visual keeps the evidence pattern readable without requiring a full app-window screenshot. Full flow: From customer evidence to initiatives.
Check the supporting evidence
Describe the problem in your own words, then review the evidence Zentrik proposes from existing signals and insights. Keep the links that support the claim and remove weak ones. This source trail lets another teammate inspect why the opportunity matters.
Short demo: from problem framing to surfaced evidence and how the narrative sits next to ideas on the tree. A themed still from the same flow is on Why flat context isn't enough.
Ideas and initiatives
Link ideas when you have possible solutions. Use a study to answer an open question. When the team commits to a solution, promote it to an initiative for scope, tasks, and delivery. See Planning and roadmaps for the next step.
Troubleshooting
Opportunity feels disconnected from evidence
Link insights that quote or summarize the customer, then open the signal behind them. If the insight layer is thin, bring in more evidence via connectors, bulk imports, or paste—see Evidence → insights.
